To obtain a durable bulky yarn having both bulkiness and shrink resistance, by subjecting a woven fabric or a knitted fabric composed of a cellulose-based yarn to a liquid ammonia treatment, treating the fabric by a combination of high-temperature water or steam treatment and a resin treatment, loosening the woven fabric or the knitted fabric and taking out the yarn.
A woven fabric or a knitted fabric composed of a cellulose-based yarn such as cotton yarn or the like is impregnated with liquid ammonia retained under normal pressure at ≤-33°C, subjected to high temperature water or steam treatment at 40-150°C and, before or after the treatment, is provided with 0.5-10 wt.% calculated as a solid content concentration of a cellulose reaction type N-methylol compound or the like, subjected to middle drying and curing treatment at 120-170°C to perform a resin treatment. Then the woven fabric or the knitted fabric is loosened and the yarn is taken out to give the objective durable bulky yarn.
