Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a galvanized steel sheet having excellent corrosion resistance as compared to the conventional galvanized steel sheet by performing electrolysis by using a galvanizing bath added with a prescribed ratio of Ti compd. to form a specified amt. or above of a galvanizing layer on the steel sheet. CONSTITUTION:A galvanizing bath added with 0.01-1.5g/l Ti compd. in terms of Ti metal in the conventional electrogalvanizing bath such as sulfuric acid (salt) bath, chloride bath or the like is prepd. The Ti compd. is preferably a bivalent or tervalent Ti compd. haing water solubility and reducing property for which chloride, sulfate, fluoride, etc. are used. Electrolysis is performed by using such galvanizing bath to form >=3g/m<2> galvanizing layer on the steel sheet. The electrogalvanized steel sheet obtd. by such galvanization exhibits better corrosion resistance without painting and after painting than the conventional electroplated steel sheet. The Ti compd. is exemplified by, for example, TiCl3.
