To provide a process for producing an electrophotographic photoreceptor which is free from image quality defects, such as interference fringe patterns and black dots, in spite of formation of images by a laser beam, and is free from image quality defects by charge leakage and a honing treatment device used for the same.
Fine polymer powder is used as a polishing agent in a processing for producing the electrophotographic photoreceptor forming photosensitive layers on a substrate 1 subjected to surface roughening by subjecting the substrate 1 surface to a honing treatment using the polishing agent. The fine polymer powder to be used as the polishing agent is preferably spherical. The device used for the honing treatment is constituted by forming the inside surfaces of a treating vessel 5 and piping 6, which come into contact with the polishing agent, of plastics 7 as the honing device for subjecting the surface of the substrate 1 of the electrophotographic photoreceptor to the surface roughening treatment by spraying the polishing agent consisting of the fine polymer powder thereon.
