Abstract:
PURPOSE: To produce ethylbenzene in a high selectivity by carrying out the cyclodehydrating reaction in one stage using an 8C fraction obtained from a naphtha as a raw material.
CONSTITUTION: This method for producing ethylbenzene is to carry out the cyclodehydrating reaction of an 8C fraction obtained from a naphtha in the presence of a catalyst prepared by performing the supporting treatment of a compound containing platinum and a compound containing a halogen on an L type zeolite under conditions of 400-550°C temperature, 0.1-5.0hr-1 weight space velocity and 0-10kg/cm2G pressure, then fractionate the resultant reactional product and recover the ethylbenzene.
