Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain the subject copolymer, excellent in adhesion, printability and dyeability and useful as films, etc., by copolymerizing ethylene with an unsaturated carboxylic acid ester in the presence of a catalyst consisting essentially of a transition metallic compound and an aluminoxane. CONSTITUTION:Ethylene is copolymerized with an unsaturated carboxylic acid ester (e.g. methyl acrylate) in the presence of a catalyst consisting essentially of (A) a transition metallic compound component containing a transition metal (e.g. titanium, zirconium, hafnium or neodymium) belonging to group IVB, VB or VIB of the periodic table and (B) an aluminoxane component (e.g. triethylaluminum) to afford the objective copolymer. Furthermore, the components (A) and (B) are preferably used at 10 to 10<4> ratio of the components [(A)/(B)].
