Title:
PRODUCTION OF FALSE-TWISTED POLYESTER SLUB YARN
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3238647
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject processed yarn having a thick-and-thin pattern along the fiber axis direction and free from non-untwisted part by the simultaneous drawing and frictional false-twisting of an interlocked slub yarn having an average non-interlocked length and a variation coefficient falling within respectively specific ranges using a non-contact heater.
SOLUTION: A polyester is spun in molten state, taken up at a speed of 1,000-1,800 m/min and interlocked with a fluid ejection nozzle simultaneously with the take-up operation. The produced yarn is drawn at 45-65°C at a draw ratio corresponding to 0.6-0.95 times the spontaneous draw ratio and heat-set at 70-100°C to obtain an interlocked polyester slub yarn having an average non-interlocked length of 40-90 mm and its variation coefficient (CV) of 30-40% and containing thick parts and thin parts alternately distributed along the fiber axis direction. The interlocked slub yarn is subjected to simultaneous drawing and frictional false-twisting with a non-contact heater to obtain the objective processed yarn. The false-twisting speed is preferably 450-850 m/min.
