PURPOSE: To provide the fiber reinforced composite material which is free from cracking and crushing and has excellent dimensional accuracy by pressing a fiber reinforced molding and a press plate by an upper mold to form the molding and the plate, then impregnating a molten metal into the fiber reinforced molding and cutting away the unnecessary part, such as press plate, after solidification.
CONSTITUTION: The press plate 22 having a cap-shaped hole is fitted to the upper surface in the upper part and outer side face of the fiber reinforced molding 20. The fiber reinforced molding 20 and the press plate 22 are preheated and are then disposed to a lower mold 23a in such a manner that the press plate 22 is positioned upward. The upper mold 23b is mounted from the upper part toward the lower part of the press plate 22 to clamp the fiber reinforced molding 20 and the press plate 22. The molten metal is impregnated in the fiber reinforced molding 20 and is solidified. The unnecessary part, such as the press plate 22, is cut away. The man-hours for forming the molding are decreased in this way.
