Abstract:
PURPOSE: To produce easily fine polymer particles having a sharp particle diameter distribution at good efficiency from a polymer of a wide range of choice.
CONSTITUTION: A polymer solution prepared by dissolving a polymer in a water- insoluble good solvent is mixed with a water-insoluble poor solvent miscible with the good solvent and difficultly capable of dissolving the polymer in such an amount as not to cause the precipitation of the polymer, and the resulting mixture is emulsified in an aqueous dispersing medium to form an O/W emulsion. Then the good solvent and the poor solvent are removed from the polymer liquid drops in the O/W emulsion.
