Title:
PRODUCTION OF FLUORINE-CONTAINING COPOLYMER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3840733
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject copolymer that is excellent in dissolution properties through an easily controllable radical polymerization technique by copolymerizing a specific fluorine-containing monomer and a cyclic ether with a radical polymerization initiator.
SOLUTION: (A) A fluorine-containing monomer of the formula (R1 is a divalent organic group) as bis(α-trifluoromethyl-β-difluorovinyl) terephthalate and (B) a cyclic ether are copolymerized at an A/B molar ratio of 1/1-1/50 using a radical polymerization initiator as benzoyl peroxide in an amount of 0.1-10 pts.wt. per 100 pts.wt. of the total of the monomers at 0-120°C in an oxygen-excluded atmosphere (for example, in a nitrogen atmosphere) to produce the objective copolymer preferably with a number-average molecular weight of 1,000-100,000.
