Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain the subject polymer which can form a coating film excellent in water repellency, oil repellency, staining resistance, etc., by using a specified (meth)acrylate monomer, a specified carboxylic acid and a specified monomer as essential components and emulsion-polymerizing them. CONSTITUTION:A (per)fluoroalkylated (meth)acrylate monomer of the formula [wherein R is H or CH3; (n) is 1-10; and Rf is 1-21C (per)fluoroalkyl], an ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid (e.g. methacrylic acid) and another ethylenically unsaturated monomer copolymerizable therewith (e.g. 2-ethylhexyl acrylate) as the essential components are emulsion-polymerized.
