PURPOSE: To provide a method for producing foamed polyvinyl chloride wall paper having a tone different from that of a conventional foamed polyvinyl chloride wall paper, high in decorative effect and solid and abundant expression without requiring a specific device.

CONSTITUTION: A foamable polyvinyl chloride layer is laminated to a backing material such as paper and a pattern is printed with a foaming suppressing material on the surface of the polyvinyl chloride layer or a pattern is printed with a colored foaming suppressing material or a pattern is printed by combination of printing with the foaming suppressing material and printing with printing ink. The foamable polyvinyl chloride layer is foamed by heating. The part printed with the pattern is made into a recessed part to suppress foaming. On the other hand, part not printed with the pattern is made into a projected part, then the heated and foamed projected part is pressed to form a pressed pattern thereat to provide a method for producing a foamed polyvinyl chloride wall paper having a solid pattern.
