PURPOSE: To obtain a gas separating material for highly separating a specified gas by using a metal complex having a high rate of reaction with the gas and a relatively small molecular size and a carrier having specified properties.
CONSTITUTION: A copper compd. and benzoin and/or a copper compd. and ascorbic acid and/or a cobalt compd. and amino acids are used as a metal complex having a high rate of reaction with a specified gas and a relatively small molecular size. This metal complex and a carrier having 50-1,000m2/g specific surface area and ≥100 average pore radius or a carrier having ≥1,10m2/g specific surface area are dispersed in a solvent and mixed. A part or all of the solvent is then removed by evaporation to obtain a gas separating material capable of highly separating the specified gas.
