Abstract:
To shorten the time required to cure a thermosetting resin in a process for producing a glassy carbon material, to enhance productivity, to improve the handleability of a cured resin to be fired and to enhance the dimensional precision of a glassy carbon material after firing.
A thermosetting resin is cured by curing accompanied by a condensation reaction and the cured resin is fired to produce the objective glassy carbon material. The thermosetting resin is cured through a 1st process in which the resin is cured at a temp. below the b.p. of water and a 2nd process in which the resin is cured at the b.p. of water or above.
