To obtain a tubular bulk amorphous material execellent in the uniformity of characteristic, shape dimension, etc., in good reproducibility by instantially making negative pressure in the inner part of a columnar hollow part in a mold, quickly shifting molten metal, quickly cooling the molten metal at the critical cooling speed or quicker and solidifying.
On the furnace hearth 28 in a melting furnace 12, a metallic material, desirably, mixture of metallic material powder and pellet having high amorphous formability, is filled and melted by using arc heat source or high frequency heat source, etc. The mold 30 having the columnar hollow part 30a, i.e., the columnar cavity is shifted together with a holding tool 31 and the tip part of the columnar hollow part 30a is inserted into the molten metal at the m.p. or higher. The inner part of a suction nozzle and the columnar hollow part 30a is instantially made to the negative pressure and the molten metal is shifted into the inner part of the columnar hollow part 30a with the negative pressure sucking force, and the molten metal in contact with the inner surface of the columnar hollow part 30a is quickly cooled at the critical cooling speed or quicker and solidified. In this way, a glassy metal is produced as the tubular state.
