Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain the subject compound having a low chlorine content and causing no thermal expansion when used for a raw material for resines in electronic and electric industrial filed by reacting a polyether having specific molecular weight with epichlorohydrin using a solid alkali metal hydroxide to carry out glycidylation.
CONSTITUTION: One mol polyether having 150-3000 average molecular weight is reacted with preferably 1.5-10mol (based on hydroxy group of the polyether) epichlorohydrin using solid alkali metal hydroxide (preferably sodium hydroxide) preferably at 10-60°C to carry out glycidylation and afford the objective compound. A preferable solid alkali metal hydroxide contains ≥80% particles having ≤1mm particle diameter.
