Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a simple production process for glycine from serine or glyceric acid.
CONSTITUTION: Serine is subjected to dehydrogenation and decarbonylaton in the presence of a catalyst comprising at least one of Rh, Pt, Pd, Ru, Ni and Co. Or Glyceric acid is aminated in the presence of a catalyst selected from the group consisting of Rh, Pt, Pd, Ru, Ni and Co followed successively by dehydrogenation and decarbonylation into glycine.
