Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a heterocyclic compound useful as an intermediate for medicines in high yield under a mild condition without any side reaction by reacting a specific nitrogen-containing heterocyclic hydroxyiminoacetic ester with a dicarbonate in the presence of a specific amine.
CONSTITUTION: A compound of formula I (X1 is NH, O or S; X2 is CH or N; R1 is organic group) [e.g. 2-(2-amino-4-thiazolyl)-2-hydroxyiminoacetic acid ethyl ester] is reacted with a dicarbonate of formula II (R2 is alkyl, alkenyl or aralkyl) (e.g. di-t-butyl dicarbonate) in the presence of an amine of formula III (R3 and R4 are alkyl, aryl or bonded to form a ring) (e.g. 4-N, N- dimethylaminopyridine) and an aliphatic tertiary amine (e.g. N, N, N', N- tetramethylethylenediamine) or an aromatic tertiary amine to give the objective heterocyclic compound of formula IV.
