Title:
PRODUCTION OF HIGH-PURITY AMINO ALCOHOL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS61293933
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To produce the titled compound easily in high purity, by reacting ammonia to an epoxy compound containing a halogen compound as an impurity, adding an aqueous solution of an alkali to the reaction mixture, and removing the ionic halogen component transferred to the aqueous phase.

CONSTITUTION: An amimo alcohol is produced by reacting (A) an epoxy compound having ≥2 glycidyl ether groups and/or glycidylamino groups and containing a halogen compound as an impurity with (B) ammonia. In the above process, an aqueous solution of an alkali such as sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide, ammonia, etc., is added to the resultant reaction mixture to effect the transfer of the ionic halogen component to the aqueous phase. The ionic halogen component can be separated and removed from amino alcohol, and a high-purity amino alcohol can be produced by this process.

USE: Hardener of epoxy resin for the use in electronic field.
