Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a process for producing a high-purity acid-soluble collagen from fish scale in a state free from gelatin which is a depolymerized and denaturated collagen.

CONSTITUTION: The objective process for producing an acid-soluble fish-scale collagen comprises the steps of deashing the fish scale; extracting an acid-soluble collagen from the deashed fish scale with an acidic aqueous solution; and recovering the extracted acid-soluble collagen, wherein the above steps are carried out at ≤15°C.
