PURPOSE: To obtain a highly concentrated surfactant in good thermal efficiency and in saved thermal energy with a compact device by continuously feeding a specific surfactant slurry on the surfaces of a hollow disk whose both surfaces are heat conductive surfaces, and concentrating the fed slurry on the surfaces.
CONSTITUTION: The method for producing this highly concentrated surfactant comprises continuously feeding a surfactant slurry containing (A) 30-70wt.% of an α-sulfofatty acid alkyl ester salt [e.g. an α-sulfofatty acid alkyl ester salt wherein the fatty acid residue is 8-18C fatty acid residue; the alkyl is 1-4C alkyl; salt is alkali(ne earth) metal salt] and (B) a nonionic surfactant [e.g. a polyoxyalkylene alkyl (phenyl) ether, polyethylene glycol (fatty acid ester)] through a feed pipe 15 on the surfaces of a hollow disk 13 whose both the surfaces are heat transfer surfaces, and concentrating the fed slurry.
