Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a producing method of a hollow polymer latex capable of stably producing the latex containing hollow polymer particles having a high glass transition temperature and reduced in residual odor.
CONSTITUTION: The objective producing method of a hollow polymer latex is characterized by adding a base to a carboxy-modified copolymer latex in the presence of a polymerizable monomer to keep pH of latex to ≥8 and then adding a carboxyl group-containing polymerizable monomer thereto to keep pH of the latex to ≤7 and then polymerizing the monomer.
