PURPOSE: To obtain a hybrid yarn by homogeneously intermixing thermoplastic fibers and reinforcing fibers so as to be afforded with improved processability.

CONSTITUTION: This hybrid yarn is obtained by spreading thermoplastic fibers and reinforcing fibers separately to form a band and combining and homogeneously intermixing the two bands on rolls or rods; wherein the spreading is carried out in such a way that the reinforcing fiber band is 20 to 100% wider than the thermoplastic fiber band. The hybrid yarn thus obtained can be sized into textile fibers which can be molded to produce fiber composites.
