Abstract:

PURPOSE: To easily form an information recording master disk having patterns of different groove depths by laminating a thin metallic film on a substrate, then removing the thin metallic film by projection of a high energy beam thereto to form the pattern and projecting again the high energy beam to the other points.

CONSTITUTION: The thin metallic film 2 is formed on the substrate 1. The material for the thin metallic film 2 may be selected from metals capable of providing the hardness within the range where the execution of the following stage is possible by taking the durability required by the final product into consideration like for the material 1. The more specific materials of the thin metallic film 2 are exemplified by Al, Co, Zn, Co, etc. The two high energy beams of different outputs, for example, two laser beams, are projected onto the thin metallic film 2 while the beams are simultaneously scanned to form the pattern for tracking and the pattern having the groove depth different therefrom, for example, the pattern for format signals, by which the information recording master disk is completed. The optical information recording original plate having the patterns which are different in the groove depth is thereby produced and the transfer accuracy is improved with less transfer stages.
