PURPOSE: To decrease curling of the substrate of an information recording medium and to improve the rotation characteristic at the time of driving by subjecting a long-sized flexible resin film to formation of a recording layer, etc., while supporting the film under the tension applied thereto.
CONSTITUTION: Both longitudinal ends of the long-sized resin film 12 are taken up on rollers 13b and while both transverse ends are pulled by clips 17, the film is supported and the tension is applied to this film in the longitudinal direction X-X and the transverse direction Y-Y. The flatness is, therefore, maintained and the vapor deposition is executable with substantially no curling even if there is the deformation by heat during the vapor deposition. The resin film taken up on the rollers is blanked to a disk shape after the film is subjected to such layer formation by a vacuum deposition method of sputtering method. The surface waving of the substrate during rotational driving is thereby extremely decreased and the information recording medium having the excellent rotating characteristics is obtd.
