Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing Japanese banana plant fibers requiring no troublesome combing step and, as necessary, simultaneously dyeable even in a fiber extracting step.
SOLUTION: A raw skin 12 prepared by tearing off a trunk (stem) of a Japanese banana plant is passed through a fiber extracting step for dipping the raw skin 12 in a lye liquid 13 for a prescribed time to produce Japanese banana plant fibers. A mixed ash of straws with leaves of a gymnospermous plant dissolved in water is used as the lye liquid 13.
