PURPOSE: To obtain a lap for comber having uniform thickness along the width and heavy lap weight, by producing a 1st lap composed of plural laminated fleeces produced by collecting and drafting a number of silvers, drafting the 1st lap and laminating a number of the drafted 1st laps.

CONSTITUTION: In the 1st step, a number of (12 in the figure) slivers S are collected with each of a number of (3 in the figure) draft heads 2 and drafted to form a number of sheet fleeces. The fleeces are stacked one upon another and wound to obtain a 1st lap LP1. In the subsequent 2nd step, a number of (6 in the figure) fleeces drawn from the 1st lap LP1 are drafted by separate draft heads 8, tracked one upon another and wound to obtain a 2nd lap LP2.
