Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily produce a large diameter pipe joint by a simple apparatus by molding one end part of a cut pipe material so as to expand the diameter thereof to a predetermined dimension and forming a ring-shaped groove in which a packing is fitted to the inner surface thereof at the same time.
SOLUTION: A long synthetic resin pipe molded by an extrusion molding means is cut into predetermined length and this cut pipe material 1a is immersed in hot glycerine oil to be softened to be set to a cavity 8 and, after split molds 6 are clamped and fixed, both end opening parts of the pipe material 1a are hermetically closed by stoppers 9, 9 and heated oil is injected into the pipe material 1a from the injection port 10 opened to one stopper 9 to expand the pipe material toward the cavity inner surfaces of the split molds to expand the diameter thereof to a predetermined dimension. A receiving port receiving a synthetic resin pipe to be connected is formed in this diameter expanded part. Grooves in which a ring-shaped slip-off preventing and cutting-off packings are fitted are formed in the inner peripheral surface of this receiving port at a proper interval.
