PURPOSE: To reduce damage factor and increase workability and yield by engraving the cutting lines on a glass plate on which plural liquid crystal cells are formed uniformly, mounting the glass plate on a plate with a curved surface in order to be pressed and then separating it into individual cells.
CONSTITUTION: Scribing lines 3 and 4 are respectively cut on glass substrates 1 and 2 on which plural liquid crystal cells are formed in one body. The substrate 2 is mounted on curved surface 9 of R block 7 with radius R so as to be contacted with it and, after applying pressure to the glass plates by knives 10 made of elastic material such as rubber, only the substrate 1 is cut along cutting line 11 by scribing line 3. Then the face of the substrate 1 is mounted on the curved surface 9 and only the substrate 2 is cut along the cutting line 12 by the scribing line 4 of the plate 2. Then, the substrate 1 side is mounted on the flat plate 14, and the flinging pan 13 is pressed and removed by a rubber knife 10. Thus, the substrate 2 is only bent in the surface 9 at the time of cutting off plate 1 so as not to be cut out under cutting line 11.
