Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production process for lithium hexafluorophosphate of a high purity with excellent storage stability.
SOLUTION: A solution of lithium hexafluorophosphate in dimethyl carbonate is concentrated by evaporation of the solvent in the temperature range from -20 to +150°C to crystallize out lithium hexafluorophosphate with particle sizes of ≥50 μm. Or, the crystals are dissolved again in dimethyl carbonate followed by recrystallization. The collected lithium hexafluorophosphate is dried in the temperature range of from -20 to +150°C.
