Abstract:

PURPOSE: To produce a low-density and low-hardness soft urethane foam without requirement for another foaming agent except water and without reducing other physical properties by using a special polyoxyalkylenepolyol.

CONSTITUTION: After adding ethylene oxides to a polyvalent alcohol, propylene oxides are added thereto and ethylene oxides are further added thereto as necessary. The resultant polyoxyalkylenepolyol having 2.5 to 3.5 average number of functional group and 40 to 80mgKOH/g hydroxyl. number is reacted with an organic polyisocyanate in the presence of water in an amount of 4 to 7 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. polyol.
