Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide the process for producing meso-carbon microbeads (MCMB) of fine particle sizes in high yield in the production of MCMB from coal tar or coal tar pitch.
CONSTITUTION: 1. A production process for MCMB, where coal tar or coal tar pitch is combined with 0.5 to 10wt.% of carbon black and heat-treated as 300 to 500°C. 2. As the MCMB described in 1, the carbon black structure whose center particle size: D50 is more than 0.5μm is used.
