To provide quite a novel technique that a metallic base material is degreased by a corona discharge and to provide, the method and device for producing a metallic base material degreased by a corona discharge related to the residual oil amt. and surface tension which are not obtained by the conventional technique and quite a novel metal surface degreasing technique.
A rolled metallic base material 7 is degreased to produce a metallic base material. In this method, a corona discharge having ≥50 W.min/ m2 energy density is applied to the rolled metallic base material which is thereby degreased. Besides, a corona discharge having ≥50 W.min/m2 energy density is applied to degrease the surface of the metallic base material. Further, the energy density is preferably controlled to 100 to 500 W.min/m2.
