Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide for industrially advantageously producing an aliphatic polyester polymer excellent in mechanical strengths and color tone at a highly practical polymerization rate.
SOLUTION: A mixture (1) of at least one aliphatic dicarboxylic acid compound selected from among aliphatic dicarboxylic acids and their diesters and anhydrides with an aliphatic diol or a precondensate (11) of the mixture (1) is used as a reaction material. The material is subjected to polycondensation in the presence of a reaction catalyst comprising a metal-containing transesterification catalyst and a cocatalyst, thus giving the objective aliphatic polyester polymer. The cocatalyst comprises at least one phosphorus compound selected from among organic phosphinic acids, hydrogen-containing ammonium phosphate salts, hydrogen-containing ammonium polyphosphate salts, hydrogen- containing calcium phosphate salts, and hydrogen-containing calcium polyphosphate salts.
