Abstract:
To provide an improved method for producing an amine from an alcohol, an aldehyde, and a ketone by using a catalyst which has improved mechanical properties and economically improves the conventional method using the catalyst containing zirconium dioxide.
The method for producing the amine comprises reacting a primary or secondary alcohol, an aldehyde or a ketone, hydrogen, and a nitrogen compound selected from among ammonia, a primary amine, and a secondary amine in the presence of the catalyst prepared by precipitating a catalytically active component on monoclinic, tetragonal, or cubic zirconium dioxide.
