Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method of a glass plate that suppresses degradation of electrodes in a melting vessel and improves durability thereof to prolong a life of the melting vessel.SOLUTION: A production method of a glass substrate includes a melting step for producing molten glass by melting a glass raw material in a melting furnace that has electrodes 12 arranged in at least a pair of open holes 23 and is made of a plurality of stacked refractories 31, 32, 33. The melting furnace has a melting vessel insulation structure 24 around the electrodes 12 protruding from the open holes 23 to the outside of the melting furnace. A cooling space is formed between the electrodes 12 protruding from the open holes 23 to the outside of the melting furnace and the melting vessel insulation structure 24 to cool the periphery surface of the electrodes 12 protruding from the open holes 23 to the outside of the melting furnace.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
