Abstract:

To provide a production method of a graft polymer which is excellent in low hygroscopic property, heat resistance, mechanical strengths and optical characteristics, and to provide a molding material, a film or an additive and optical parts which are obtained by this production method.

The production method of a graft polymer is characterized by using indene or an indene based monomer (a) shown by formula I as an essential component (Wherein, R1 to R5 show each H, a halogen C, O, N, S or Si: and n shows an integer of 1-4) and polymerizing a mixture of the monomer (a) and a cationically polymerizable monomer (b) by using an acid catalyst, in the presence of a halogen-containing styrene polymer (c) shown by formula II (Wherein, R6 to R10 show each H, an alkyl or alkoxy, X shows a halogen).
