Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method with high versatility, by which a compound having a -CF=CFterminal group useful as a liquid crystal material can be easily and efficiently obtained.SOLUTION: The production method of a compound expressed by formula (4):R-(A)-Z-(A)-Z-(A)-Z-(A)-Z-(A)-Z-A-(CH)-CHCH-CF=CFincludes the following first and second steps. In the first step, a compound expressed by formula (2):YXCFCFXis added to a compound expressed by formula (1):R-(A)-Z-(A)-Z-(A)-Z-(A)-Z-(A)-Z-A-(CH)-CH=CHto produce a compound expressed by formula (3):R-(A)-Z-(A)-Z-(A)-Z-(A)-Z-(A)-Z-A-(CH)-CHYCH-CFXCFX. In the second step, the compound expressed by formula (3) above described is reduced to produce the compound expressed by formula (4).
