Abstract:
To provide a method for producing a phosphor powder which is spherical and has a high luminescent strength though its particle size is minute.
This method for producing a phosphor powder of which the mother crystal is a divalent metal aluminate and/or zirconate comprises forming a mixed solution containing metal compounds comprising (A) an aluminum compound and/or a zirconium compound and (B) a divalent metal compound into minute liquid droplets; and heating the droplets to a temperature higher than the decomposition points of the metal compounds.
