To provide a production method of toner, which gives a toner excellent in productivity and excellent in heat-resistant storage property, low-temperature fixability and preventing property against toner scattering.
The production method aims to produce a core-shell toner having a core layer containing a first resin and a colorant and a shell layer on the core layer. The production method for the toner includes: a shell-forming step of mixing a dispersion liquid containing core particles that contain the first resin and the colorant with a shell resin dispersion liquid containing particles for the shell layer that contain a second resin having vinyltriaryl imidazole group and a third polyester resin, so as to coat the core particle with the particles for the shell layer to form a shell layer (A); and a crosslinking step of treating the layer (A) with an oxidizing agent solution containing an oxidizing agent to crosslink the second resin.
