There is provided a production method for a water dispersion for a pressure-sensitive adhesive composition, wherein the water dispersion is provided by emulsifying to disperse a specific polybutene with an unsaturated monomer mixture composing a pressure-sensitive adhesive polymer and polymerizing in the presence of a polymerization initiator by using the obtained emulsified liquid, and a water dispersion type pressure-sensitive adhesive composition using the water dispersion is provided.
