Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a molded product having uniform surface gloss and a smooth surface by a method wherein a fiber reinforced plastic material is molded in a mold under heating and pressure and a specific coating compsn. is injected in the mold to be heated and pressed to form a coating layer on the surface of a molded product and, after the molded product is taken out of the mold, plating is applied to the surface of the molded product.
CONSTITUTION: Fiber reinforced plastic is heated and pressed in a mold to be molded into an objective shape. Next, in such a state that the molded product is cured to a degree not damaging the molded shape, a vehicle component based on a coating compsn. containing an oligomer consisting of a urethane acrylate oligomer and an epoxy acrylate oligomer in a 9.9/90.1-0/100wt. ratio and a polymerizable unsaturated monomer and a filler based on calcium carbonate and characterized by that 20-60wt.% of the oligomer and 5-50wt.% of calcium carbonate are compounded is injected in the mold to be heated and pressed to coat the surface of the molded product. Subsequently, the coated molded product is taken out of the mold and plating is applied to the coated molded product.
