Abstract:
PURPOSE: To readily obtain an N-substituted-N-arylcyanamide derivative useful as intermediates for agricultural chemicals and medicines, especially herbicides, in high purity and high yield by reacting an N-arylcyanamide derivative with an allyl halide derivative.
CONSTITUTION: A compound of formula I (R1 is aryl) us reacted with a compound of formula II (R2 is H, alkyl, aryl; R3 to R5 are H, halogen, alkyl, aryl; X is Cl, Br) in the presence of an iodide and an alkali metal carbonate in an aprotic solvent (e.g. DMF) at 0-150°C for 0.5-24 hr, and the produced N- substituted-N-arylcyanamide derivative of formula III is reacted with a chemical species producing a sulfide ion or hydrogensulfide ion to produce an N- substituted-N-arylthiourea derivative of formula IV.
