Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a process for producing an Ni-Ti based alloy having excellent workability.

CONSTITUTION: The Ni-Ti based alloy which consists of fine equiaxed crystal of a crystal grain size of ≤50μm and exhibits elongation of ≥20% at cold is produced by rapidly cooling and casting the melt of the Ni-Ti based alloy. The melt of the Ni-Ti based alloy is poured into metal molds of 3 to 5mm in depth (d) in the casting molds, by which the melt is rapidly cooled and cast. As a result, the Ni-Ti based alloy consisting of the fine equiaxed crystal structure 1 having the excellent workability is easily produced and the production stage is drastically reduced. The productivity is thus produced.
