PURPOSE: To obtain nonwoven fabric free from vertical stripe, enabling the development of commercial product to wide uses by jetting a high-pressure columnar liquid stream to a fiber web to interlace the web and further jetting high-pressure membrane-like liquid stream.
CONSTITUTION: A single layer or laminate of a fiber web 1 is placed on a supporting material 2 and high-pressure columnar liquid stream 3 is jetted from above the web 1 to apply the first interlacing to fibers constituting the web. Further, membrane-like liquid stream is jetted to the interlaced web 1 using a membrane-like stream jetting device to apply the second interlacing accompanied by fine movement of the web-constituting fiber to the web to provide the objective nonwoven fabric in which heat shrinkage treatment and raising treatment is not required.
