Title:
PRODUCTION OF OIL ADSORBING MATERIAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH09271663
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To inexpensively produce an oil adsorbing material easily discarded by incineration by stirring paper along with water by a high speed mixer equipped with an agitator to open the paper before drying the same.

An oil adsorbing material can be simply produced from paper by stirring and drying treatment. The paper is cut before stirring treatment to be made easy to open at a time of stirring and the production of the oil adsorbing material can be shortened. The produced oil adsorbing material adsorbs oil but does not almost adsorb water and has floating properties in water. The oil adsorbing material adsorbs oil simply only by scattering the oil adsorbing material over oil. When oil is floated on water, the oil adsorbing material is scattered over the surface of the water to adsorb only oil in a state floating on water and easily recovered because it floats on water. Since the oil adsorbing material is composed of paper, even if it is incinerated after oil adsorption, a harmful component or a malodor is not generated.
