PURPOSE: To perform sintering process at a relatively low temperature within a short time and to obtain a homogeneous superconducting material having high purity, by uniformly dissolving, dispersing or suspending one or more metal alkoxides of Bi, Sr, Ca and Cu in a solvent, removing the solvent from the solution, etc., and calcining the residue.
CONSTITUTION: One or more kinds of metal alkoxides, metal acetylacetonate derivatives and metal carboxylic acid salts of Bi, Sr, Ca and Cu are uniformly dissolved, dispersed or suspended in a solvent such as methanol or ethanol. The solvent is removed from the solution or from hydrolyzed solution and the residue is calcined in O2 atmosphere usually at 700W950°C, preferably 800W900°C to obtain an oxide superconducting material. Preferably, the ratios of Bi, Sr, Ca and Cu are the compositional ratio of a high-Tc phase [Tc=120K (onset) or thereabout] and usually Bi1Sr0.5W3Ca0.5W3Cu0.5W3.5.
