PURPOSE: The starting materials of a specific water content is passed through the fine gap between the grinding stones whose temperature and rotation number are controlled to permit the production of pelletized feed with a desired size without the damage in nitrients by no use of binders.

CONSTITUTION: The starting materials whose water content is controlled to 10W 65wt% is passed through the fine gap between two grinding stones to make pellets, wherein the temperature, rotation number, the gap width and the water content are controlled to give the desired density. For example, 10kg of the starting material such as dried fish powder are combined with 5kg of raw cuttlefish legs to adjust the water content to about 35%. The mixed product is passed through the gap between two grinding stones that is rotating (rotation number, 1,300; slit width, 0.5mm) into pellets. Then, the pellets are passed through a fluidized-bed drier to produce very fine pelletized feed for prawn fries of 0.5mm size.
