Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a method for producing a phosphorus-vanadium compound in excellent reproducibility, capable of safely and inexpensively recovering a 3-5C alcohol used in the production and even in repeated use of the alcohol.
CONSTITUTION: In a method for producing a phosphorus-vanadium compound by reacting phosphorus with a pentavalent vanadium compound in an alcohol- containing solvent, (a) phosphoric acid is reacted with a pentavalent compound in a 3-5C alcohol-containing solvent to synthesize a phosphorus-vanadium compound, (b) the phosphorus-vanadium compound is separated from the reaction solution, (c) the reaction solution after the separation is neutralized to make the concentration of phosphoric acid ≤1.0% and (d) the solution is distilled to recover the alcohol.
