Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a method of producing a poly(arylene sulfide) which has a high crystallization rate and good moldability and is inhibited from causing metal corrosion during and after molding.
CONSTITUTION: A poly(arylene sulfide) is treated with an organic acid in a 4/1 to 1/10 by weight mixture of an organic solvent and water, the concentration of the acid in the mixture being 0.1-5.0wt.%. The thus-treated polymer is sufficiently washed.
