Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polymer composite improved in Young's modulus and elastic modulus and good in moldability by e.g. dissolving a specific three- dimensional network rigid polymer in a monomer capable of producing a flexible polymer followed by polymerization of the monomer and then graft polymerization of the resultant flexible polymer to the above rigid polymer.
SOLUTION: This composite is obtained by dissolving, swelling or dispersing (A) a rigid polymer obtained by stopping polymerization before the gelling point, developed in a three-dimensional network fashion, containing copolymerization component having a tri- or higher functional group and a functional group reactive with a monomer capable of producing a flexible polymer in (B) the monomer capable of producing the flexible polymer (preferably a lactam), followed by polymerization of the component B and then graft polymerization of at least a part of the flexible polymer to the component A. The component A is obtained, preferably, by co-condensation of 2,5-diamino-1,4- benzene-dithiol with terephthalic acid and trimesic acid.
